Happy Halloween Halloweenies!! I’m off to smash the patriarchal wolves.

Send us some pics of you in your costumes and we’ll post them up !!!!

Here I’ll post my lazy costume from yesterday. My hat wouldn’t stay on which really bummed me out and I hadn’t had a chance to really do my makeup. I love my jackolantern earrings though, they use to belong to my grandmother and they have little...

Here I’ll post my lazy costume from yesterday. My hat wouldn’t stay on which really bummed me out and I hadn’t had a chance to really do my makeup. I love my jackolantern earrings though, they use to belong to my grandmother and they have little bells in them so they ring when I walk.

xoxo Ashley

We aren’t allowed to wear full costumes to school but we spent all day doing makeup for an in-school competition. I spent most of my time helping others with their looks. Here’s my makeup and my Halloween sweater!

Hello, my name is Sade (pronounced sha-day). I was born in, and spent the first 12 years of my life in Jamaica but I now live in NYC.  I’ve always had feminist ideals but I never really had a name for it, or found a place or confidence to fully express those ideals. I made this blog a couple months ago because I felt it was important, women needed to know that they are beautiful, girls needed to find a place where they can talk to each other and know they’re not alone. Women are so powerful, smart and beautiful and I will have no part in undermining that. In fact, I wanted to reiterate and embrace those things. We all need feminism. And from my own traumatic experiences and what I see around me, that idea becomes more and more true everyday.

Hey my name is Ashley. I’m a 23 year old girl from Lubbock, Texas who is currently attempting to start up her own jewelry design career. So why Feminism ? Well I’m sick and tired of being told that my opinions don’t matter because I’m a girl or being told that I’m the lesser sex and therefore I’m weak. I’m tired of seeing movies and commercials and the music industry say that women are sex objects who are incapable of being real artists . I’m tired of knowing that there is such a thing as a gender pay gap. I’m tired of being afraid to walk down the street alone. Being told that I need to live in constant fear of harassment or rape. I want to create a generation of strong, smart, and independent girls who are proud of who they are. I want equality.
